- Attentively trying to understand what someone says rather than passively hearing the words.
- Example: Practice active listening skills and take careful notes of each point of view.

- Consists of a claim, the reasons for tat claim and evidence to support the claim.

- The method for collecting data that has not been collected before and is collected directly from individuals, groups of people or research observations.
- Example: The primary source of learning for toddlers is their families.

- A way of gaining different opinions/viewpoints to help develop a perspective, usually a local perspective about an issue, often referred to as a primary source of information as responses are given directly to the person who wrote the questionnaire.
